Tortoise snack

This large Galapagos tortoise at the Miller Park Zoo was determined to snack off of this bush in the exhibit. He slowly raised himself up with his ponderous legs, reminding me of a scene from Jurasic Park, to reach higher in the bush for a particular branch. Once he had seized his snack, he slowly sank back down and began to consume his tidbit.

Wow, he sure is standing tall! I do wish I could see a little bit more of his head though.

I really like this view of his front legs and feet and neck...but I wish to see a touch more face. Also, the unfortunate inclusion of background fence is a slight distraction. The exposure looks spot on and the angle of his pose makes an interesting composition.
