Rick: What a marvelous find and a wonderful combination of elements. Well seen, composed and captured. Sorry, I'm no help on the ID. >=))>

Very interesting juxtaposition, Rick. I like the expanse of sand that makes clear just how harsh this environment is. The lizard tracks are very cool.

Your plant is gypsum centaury (Centaurium maryannum).

Great find and eye for the shot Rick.
I like the side lighting and shadow cast, with the added interest of the tracks making this comp work very well:toast:
PS - R U sure they're lizard tracks?.. I'm no expert, they kinda look like bird impressions to me..
But I'll take your word for it

Neat shot! The lizard does seem to be rather birdish with his footprint!

Rick:
Very interesting! The blooms is nicely placed in the frame and the white sand provides a good bg. Looks like two sets of birdy footprints coming from two directions and stopping to look at the flowers

Beautiful picture. I really like your spare composition and that wonderfully white sand. I also like how you used the tracks in the comp. As a tracking instructor, the main tracks look like bird tracks both in their shape and spacing. The fact that they're paired means that it's a bird that spends most of it's time perching, ground dwelling bird leave left-right-left alternate tracks. I agree with you that the tracks in the last repost are lizard, showing the tail dragging.
