Canyon Flow REPOST

Gosh I haven't posted in forever. I have a lot of new material that I am still working on and this image is certainly not my best, but I do like it and most importantly - I don't have to reformat it for this site. That's the main reason why I choose it for posting. Thanks for thoughts and feedback. Very minimal processing other than blending.

Like the reds in this Michael and the flowing water. Where was this the Escalante?

Michael, Wishing I could see this in a large print! I bet it would look fantastic. I look forward to seeing more of your new work too!

Wonderful comp and nicely balanced light. Color balance maybe feels a bit off, but this is always a struggle for me. This maybe feels a bit too red.

Michael - I would agree with Tony about the color balance. Maybe adjusting just the blacks with more cyan and see how that looks to you. Shadow look a little too red. Haven't gotten to all of your website suggestions - waiting for a break in the action. :toast:

Excellent composition Michael, love the curve of the rock and the stream.

Nice comp, but the red seems off as others have mentioned. Mainly in the stone, just a litle unnatural.

Michael,

I really like the comp and the flow and how the eye is drawn in to the scene. Have to agree with the others on the color though. Just seems globally too red, yet the whitewater in the stream seem pretty neutral. Me thinks a slightly different color rendering and this will be quite nice.

Love the composition, Michael, with the arc of the stream and the rock wall pulling the eye into the image. Agree with others about the color. Nicely done.

Thanks for your comments everyone. The consensus seems to be that's it's too red. I am having a hard time with reds on my monitors as there is a wide fluctuation and this shot is really red. Enclosed is the re-post. I added plus 10 to cyan on the highlights, midtones, and shadows via the color balance slider and also added +5 to the cyan on the black channel in selective color per Harry's suggestion. Your additional feedback is appreciated.

@ Peter - this is in the area of Escalante, although it's not technically part of that area.
