Lochan Hakel Sunrise in the shadow of Ben Loyal, Sutherland, Scotland

A distant snow capped mountain peaks through the low lying clouds at sunrise on Lochan Hakel. I particularly liked the reflection, mix of cool and warm color, as well as the mist rising off the water. Ben Loyal is to the left as is the rising sun. Taken on a Transient Light Workshop.

Pentax 67II
Pentax 55-100mm
1.5 stop HE gradient filter
Velvia50
V750 scan using Silverfast Ai Studio 8 with height adjustable holder with ANR glass.

Thanks for having a look.

Beautiful! I love looking at this, such a wonderful feel. Great comp, beautiful light and color. The sheen on the water is so nice and the foreground rocks work perfect for me. Just wonderful.

Gorgeous Eva. Lots of delicate detail and great colour fidelity. I have not used Silverfast Ai Studio 8 but it looks very impressive.

So gorgeous and so sharp and crisp Eva!! Great work. There is a real nice crop (as you may know) sans bottom rocks that leaves a wonderful pano of the mountains and sky too.

The reflection of the sky is awesome Eva, the larger version is fantastic.

Eva,

Wonderful color and I love the symmetry here as well as the quiet mood. I'm wondering if you have any other comps that did not include the rocky shore where you just include the wonderful reflection and sky? This works beautifully as presented, but I see options and on such a beautiful morning, I'm guessing you had lots of fun!

Incredible quiet beauty, Eva. Love the pastel colors in the sky/water and the touch of light on the distant mountains. I sort of like the diagonal of the rocks in the foreground although I could see this either way. Really a beautiful image; reminds me of the tundra north of the Brooks Rg in Alaska.

I thought it was Rannoch Moor at first. A beautiful exposure and lovely light. I would agree that the foreground is probably the weakest link but still does a serviceable job to leading into the scene.
