Ezekiel Daylily

I was out watering the flowers this evening after two days with temps over 100 degrees and a month of no rain. These Ezekiel Daylilies caught my eye and I decided they needed a portrait. It was after sunset and the light was fading fast. This is a 10 second exposure. All the shots slower than 10 seconds were blurry due to slight movement.

Richard:
Such a small portion of a flower but so much to explore. Great plane of focus management to get the two stamen sharp. The yellow in the petals is like candle light in the dark. Lots of interest in the image.

Richard - Pretty punchy and dark colors in the mix there with water drops adding more to the complex composition. Remarkable sharpness for a 10 Sec shot  .

It might be the starkness (combined with the story of no rain for a long time) makes this work for me even though there is no definite place for my eye to rest in the frame.

Striking colors and lots of interesting details, especially the water drops and the anthers. This small version feels a bit busy, which makes me wish for a larger version. Often what seems busy when seen small shows lots of interesting detail when viewed larger (or even very large).

Fascinating to my eye Richard. I agree with the comments, lots to look at and I'm enjoying that.
