Boreal Chickadee

Made this image at Sax-Zim bogs earlier this year. This was on a winter birding trip with some local birders. I saw lots of new species, but not too many photo ops.

Techs: 1D3/300-2.8IS+2X. F7.1@1/1250s, ISO400. HH.

This was taken at a roadside feeder in the forest. These birds are much shyer than black-capped chickadees, but as active. There was another party of birders seeing this, so quite a crowd at that scene.

Smashing looking little bird very detailed and sharp with some interesting bits on the perch and a nice bg.

Really nice light. I also find I like the perch and the colors look spot on to me. I do think it is a tiny bit over-sharpened though.
