I entered this image in the "Landscape" gallery about
a year ago. This is alpenglow on El Capitan seen from
"The Gates of the Valley" at sunset in the winter.

I am totally immersed in the mist and snow. Fabulous image Rob! Little more of foreground emphasis would have helped? Would love to see a portrait orientation of the scene too. Cheers...

Fantastic! I love the mist and color contrast. I wish there is a little more space at top though.

Wonderful mood created here. More at top would be nice.

Lovely image. I sure like the touch of spooky due to the mist rising off the river and the hints of glow reflected in the water.

Great image. I agree that the top is a bit tight. Is it my eye or is the image just a bit skewed clockwise?
Lovely scene - well captured.

Beautiful image, Robert! Love the alpenglow on El Capitan and its slight reflection in the water. Great colors in this and the mist just creates such a wonderful mood. Lots of great elements in this photo! I, too wish for more room at the top. The alpenglow immediately draws your eyes to it but then the picture abruptly stops.

The alpenglow coming through the fog is very nice. Slow shutter speed works with the softness also. I would wish for more space above the peak though.

The warm face of El Capitan very nicely complements the cool winter scene below. I agree with others that the comp is a little tight at the top.

Gorgeous photo. All of that cold with the warm splash at the top is a wonderful juxtaposition. Your angle puts me right there, and it sure is chilly!

Robert, I missed this photo being posted recently. I do recall seeing it however when you'd posted it in Landscape or maybe CANP at one point. A very nice angle of view from this side of the park. The low fog level makes it all come together. Well done.
Congratulations on the WP for this gallery.
