Botony Bay at Sunset

The famous trees in the water at Botony Bay, South Caroina - about 30 miles south of Charleston. This was just at sunset when the last of the soft light was available. This is a double exposure. The water is a 4.5 minute exposure. Everything else is a 1.6 second shot to freeze the clouds.

I like the comp and the blend. It's nice to see the clouds reflected in the water. Sky maybe feels a bit underexposed. Certainly adds textures and drama to the clouds, but the actual areas of sky feel grayed-down.

This is great. I think the idea of combining a long and short exposure works really nicely here.

Beautiful Wick! I love this. Simple, elegant and yet still very engaging; something I would enjoying hanging on my own wall. As already said, great job with the mix in exposures/ss - this works very well. Nice to see a post from you.

Beautiful, what a stunning location. I love the simplicity of the composition and the sky is a great juxtaposition. It is clear this is an area with diverse opportunities under various light conditions.

Beautifully done--soft, serene, nicely detailed with a melancholy mood. In particular, I like the mix of warm/cool tones.

Love the darker mood and the somewhat spooky feeling. A little more separation between the trees would have been nice. Love the water color and texture.

Love this one. I like the soft greyish feel contrasting with the slash of light on the clouds upper rhs.
