Really like the comp. Only thought would be to darken the two vertical edges and lighten the interior a bit. Sort of flipped from what it is now to put more light in the middle.

There is always something soothing in a waterfall (especially if you live in the desert). I wish the rock on the right would not stick out so much to obscure the water fall but for me it also give a sense of how the water has carved out it's flow. Wonderful detail, subtle colors and tonality on the larger image, way to go.

Lovely little fall. I really like these little miniscape opportunities. Great detail and color on the moss and I love the little dribbles in middle of frame. The rock on the right does seem a bit intrusive with the sharp line that it makes and there is a bit of the left side of frame that's really not important to the overall image. I wonder if a narrower vertical crop would work better here?

Very well composed, Eva. I'm not sure, but the shot looks s little soft in places. Otherwise that's a lovely capture.

Beautiful lush greens and dynamic diagonal comp. I agree with Tony's suggestions.

Love the comp, and I also agree with Tony's suggestion. Inverting the brightness like that would keep the eye in the central part of the frame more.

I like this comp very much, Eva. The water looks great and I really like the greens in the moss covered rocks. Very nice!

I like this very much it has a very pleasing flow rate and a hint of blueness to the water between those gorgeous green mosses. That waterfall is just past Dundonnell.

For this repost I rescanned the transparency then burned down the rocks and foliage on both sides. There is some motion blur in some areas of the foliage due to some light wind and long exposure. Thanks all for your input.

Thanks Ian for the location info and for stopping here. This really was a nice waterfall..... and thanks for letting me to use your 300mm and 45mm.

Love the composition, Eva, with the nice diagonal of the water and the wonderful greens. Was going to suggest upping the mids and highlights in the middle section of the cascade to better the 'flow' of the composition, but see that your repost has accomplished this very well. The lower cascade in the repost looks super as well. Now I can hear the water falling.

My only comment is a question that my brain can' answer. Where is all of the water in the lower part coming from? It sure way more than coming down from above. Does another source come in from the left or right here? Otherwise, I really like this image as you captured in very well.

Hi Peter - I am pretty sure there is water flow coming in from the right behind the rock on the right though it was not very obvious from our vantage point. I myself though the same thing..... Where is all that water coming from? The flow of water is even greater below this little section. I'll post the whole scene at some point but liked the intimate detail of this portion best. Thanks.

Eva, your rework is indeed an improvement in my opinion. The shape of the rock at the right makes for an unusual and very interesting framing to my eye, that emphasizes the dynamics of the fall impressively. I try to imagine the stunning details in a large print.

Eva,

This is somewhat unique and the more I look at it, the more I like it. Ditto on the repost, the scan/processing looks spot on now. What I find interesting, and i mentioned unique is that the big rock on the right really gives this a feeling of 3D, or at a minimum creates depth. It's almost as if the rock is a composite from another image, but of course it's not. It's interesting and optically weird too how the diagonal that big rock over the falls continues up through the image and the upper falls, creating some kind of optical illusion or something. Anyway, maybe it's just me, or something I just had for lunch...

Nice to see a waterfall image from you Eva. I like your comp with the slight diagonal flow to the water from top to bottom. It's a shame about the motion blur on the foliage on the top right. I think I prefer your original version which seems to have better contrast. I would perhaps just burn down the fg falls a touch and just bring out a few highlights in the middle section. Lovely shot and love those mossy rocks.
