Junction Sunset

Sunset at The Junction, Girraween NP, Queensland.

I'm still catching up on processing some images from my 2010 trip to this park. I had a few goes at this one, but was never happy with the result until I reprocessed it with ACR7 and CS6. ACR is so much better now in many regards, so I'm much happier with the final result.

The light was pretty amazing on this stormy afternoon, so the image is virtually one shot with just a small blend of some blown bright sky sections mainly on the right and to control the blazing reds.

D80, 18-200mm lens at 24mm, f/11, 6 sec, ISO 100.

Many thanks for your c&c.

Love the way the sky color tints the rock slope. I really admire the balance in this image. Great job

I really like the back and forth layers through the image David, and the reflection sets it off nicely!

Very cool looking place, the wet rock slab and wonderful colors really add to the overall composition, way to go.

I like the amazing sky and the reflected colors on the rocks, David. The comp is dynamic. The foreground, especially the hill in the middle, looks a tad bright to my eyes.

I really like the colors, clouds, and the reflected glow on the wet rocks. The layering of the lines is very nice as well.

A great looking sunset, David. I really like this comp and how you caught the reflected color on the foreground slope. A beautiful scene!

awesome light and I like the strong diagonal lines
I agree with Yiming that the FG and perhaps even midground is a tad too bright...

Besides the color, the strong triangles in here create some exceptional dynamism. Good eye to see and compose this one.

Great sunset. Excellent comp, color, and I like that red reflecting in the water in the foreground.

The criss cross diagonals work well here David. I especially light the reflection off the rock shelf. Beautiful color and light overall.
