This beautiful Green-eyed Hawker was resting on the grass. I really love those strange green eyes. I didn't have my macro lens on my camera, but my 70-200mm. I must say I am really impressed by the 'macro' quality of the lens.

Great detail in larger version. Well done. Suggestion to off center a bit. :toast:

Great focal plane management with the entire DF sharp. Those eyes and their contrast with the yellow face are really neat.

Definitely worth looking at the large version: very nice details. Interesting DF showcased in your photo. I don't think thar we have these DFs out here.

Ellen,
Well done with the big lens, I agree with what has already been said. I like the center framing unless the BG has something to add. :wavey:

Lovely! I don't mind the central nature of the subject. :toast:

We've had lots of great DF images lately, Ellen, and this one ranks with the best of them. Well done. :toast:

Those are really neat eyes! Funny how drab the rest of his body is! I don't mind the central composition at all.

Beautiful image. Nice sharp subject and beautiful color. My only small suggestion would be to tone down the blade of grass in the upper right...otherwise perfect. :wavey:
