Canon 5D Mark II, 75-300MM Zoom, Tripod, Polarizing Filter on a rainy day. Just recently purchased a new camera and getting back into photography after several years of absence. Wanted to slow the wave action but did not have a ND filter.

ISO 100, 180mm, f25, 0.4sec

The rich colors and details in the rocks make this shot particularly appealing, Kathryn. Using the polarizer to reduce the shutter speed by a couple of stops is an excellent trick if you don't have a neutral density filter. Well done! I also like the smooth details I the spraying water. Nice shot!

This is all about textures for me, from the water to the rocks. Shutter speed looks perfect. A slight crop of the top would create a more pano feel, but also mimic the rolling surf lines and lower mosses. Nice find.

Welcome to NPN Kathryn! I like the composition and colors. I don't mind the faster shutter speed for the water here, since it creates some wonderful textures in the water. What are the technical details for this image? Aperture, shutter speed, ISO, etc.

Thank you all for the kind comments. I looked at the cropping suggestion made by Harry Lichtman and agree. Thank you for pointing that out. I have edited my original post to add the technical info and am repeating it here. Thank you for taking the time to comment on my photo.

I like the abstract quality of the telephoto lens. Image feels like it could use a bit more focus in terms of having an area of strong interest.
