Vanessa,
Cool Capture, excellent detail. The hot lighting on the flower is a good balance with the darker LH background. :toast:

Very well done. Nice details on the bird and a smooth BG. The flowers add so much to the image. I'm actually on my deck since a couple of hours and am trying to shoot Ruby-throated Hummingbirds. I'd be very happy to get an image such as this one. I think I'd be tempted to clone away the OOF elements at the bottom and the leaf sliver on the right edge, or perhaps play with the cropping. Just my thoughts; a fine image as is.

Very nicely done Vanessa. Love the natural light. I also like the inclusion of the flowers. I might also be tempted to clone the OOF flowers in the BG. I think they don't add anything and just take away from the image a touch. The image is good either way, but I think it takes it up a notch IMO.

Very well taken  I like the details and color you captured. Been trying to get a similar shot myself, no luck so far but you show it can be done! The OOF flowers can go or stay, I agree it might make the photo stronger without them. Thanks for sharing, hope I can do half as well.

Great shot! I'm surprised that you were able to stop the wings at 1/1000sec. I agree that getting rid of the OOF flowers at the bottom could be an improvement.
