Encompassed

With all the great stuff being featured on NPN lately I finally motivated myself to post one of my favorites earlier this year. This past spring was fantastic in the Great Smoky Mountains and I took advantage of the few days I could break away to immerse myself in the sweet essence of the park. The flow in many of the creeks and rivers was perfect for getting wet and making foreground rich compositions. Hopefully next year will be just as productive, I'm eager for my favorite season in the Appalachians!

This composition is from the popular Roaring Fork on the Tennessee side of the park.

5D Mark II, 19mm @ f/16, ISO 200, 3.2 second exposure along with a Singh Ray LB Warming Polarizer.

The depth of light is wondful in this shot - and the fresh greens make it even more appealing. I love the depth and perspective as well. Nice shot, Peyton!

Oh wow Peyton!! Foreground rich for sure, but there is interest throughout the entire image! Wonderful perspective. I understand why this is one of your faves.

Peyton I love the low-down view here and the vivid greens, makes me want to hike in that forest and over that stream!

Sweet. Works as a landscape and as art. I cannot wait for my trip there in October. Hope that it will be a good fall color year.

Very nice scene. I like the immediacy of the water in the foreground. Maybe seems a bit too yellow, but there is room for lots of personal preference in interpreting this type of light.

Great motion in the foreground that leads to an amazing, and calmer, vibrant green background.
