I was looking through some of my great grey pictures from a couple months ago and realized I hadn't posted this one! I really like the pose he has here, such an intense stare! I also like the bokeh, it looks really nice against his colours.

My dad and I have been talking to our friend that takes us out for these guys, and he said that the owls have sadly left for the summer... :frown: I have a few more from this shoot that I will be showing througout this week! Hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoy taking them  . Sure hope I can find more of these guys! Please check out the larger version for max detail!

Thanks for looking, it is really appreciated!

Very nice image of an owl I'm yet to see. Well composed and the owl certainly did his part. He definitely had you in his sights. Only 2 things to mention. I probably would try to crop out the barbed wire and see how that looks. It doesn't add anything to the photo. Also, it looks like the very front of the breast is soft like you just missed by literally a whisker. Great photo to share and I'm looking forward to the rest.

Hi Jenaya, what a nice image of this gorgeous owl. I love the pose, and the composition - you gotta love those big yellow eyes. Personally, I don't mind the wire, I like the shot as posted, well done.

Jenaya:

Very nice capture of this amazing bird. Overall I like the composition. The wire doesn't bother me since the post is a prominent part of the image. Speaking of the post, I would look at a graduated darkening (slightly) of the bottom part of the image. I think this would help focus more attention on the owl and less on the post since it is so prominent.

Very nice, Jenaya. If this were mine, I think I'd take some off the bottom, but verticals almost always seem to tall to me (odd, since the horizontals don't seem too long). Excellent detail in the Owl and I like the bg and dof.

Very nice Jenaya. I find that for some reason it seems very difficult to get those breast feathers to appear sharp in a photo. So it may not be your or the settings, just the bird imho. I'm sure you will see more of these treasures. I'm certainly looking forward to this fall when they seem to appear again around here.
