Cadillac Sunrise

Hi everyone, I just got back from Acadia National Park a few days ago, and I've been going through some photos from an incredible sunrise at the summit of Cadillac Mountain. It was sort of a surprise trip, so we weren't smart enough to reserve a room (not a good idea in the peak season). Ended up sleeping in the car, but it worked out. :)

Photo is hand blended from three exposures. Thanks for looking!

Great foreground subject and lighting. The dark shadows in the mid ground are a little bit distracting but not a deal breaker. Very nice shot.

A very peaceful and soothing image. Nicely composed too. Very nice.

Oh how sweet! They say it's the first part of the US to be blessed by the sun. I've had a chance to witness one of these myself recently. I must say you have captured the essence of it very nicely. Nicely lit foreground to counter the bright rising sun. Great pic Joe! Did you use any filters for this one?

Thanks everyone! Marco, no filters, but I have to say the crazy impressive dynamic range of the new d800 helped quite a bit. ;)

I like the comp and colors. Maybe seems a bit underexposed.
