Catching the Last Glow

Looks like I was a bit late for the best light, huh? But I tried to make the best out of it. Manual blend of two exposures (Nikon D90, 16-85 DX VR, tripod). I like the creek and the (small) glacier in the backdrop, but then, the light could obviously be better.

What do you think?

I ilke the glow on the mountain peak....the foreground doesn't do much for me. A little bit earlier and you would have seen more of the alpenglow. I would consider cropping a bit of the bottom

Thanks Bill. I think you have a very valid point there. I've tried 4:5, which I like. Square would probably also work.

The 4X5 crop works much better. This is a nice photo as is but it is too bad you missed most of the alpenglow.

Nice composition. The little bit of alpenglow pulls my eye right in. The foreground tonal range seems a bit compressed, maybe an S curve applied to just the bottom 1/3?
