Rose 2 +repost
by Rob Graham
Similar in technique to my last rose post, I caught this rose lit by the evening sun while the background was in shadow. I wish the foremost petals were more in focus, but the leaves aren't in focus either. 7D, ISO 400, f/11, 1/640, 55mm, with crop mostly from bottom and left side. C&C always welcome and appreciated.

8 commentsNice light. This one is similar to the last but with some differences. I am okay with petal and leaves been soft. I didn't mind the floating illusion in the previous but for some reason I find the cut off stem a little disconcerting in this image. There seems to be a disconnect between the flowers and the leave and my eyes are drawn to the end of the flower stem wanting to make the connection with the flower. Is it possible to dodge and pull a bit of detail out from the dark stem?
