Bloomin Dune

I first posted this shot over on another forum but it probably fits better here. These primroses were taken at Saint Anthony Sand Dunes in Idaho. This is a recreational area open to all dune vehicles. It was Memorial Day weekend so the chances of getting run over were pretty good. While I had my head under the dark cloth of my 4x5 I always had to keep looking out wondering if this was my last day on earth. I also got accosted by a recreation ranger that said I needed a permit to photograph here. Don't understand that rule but I got my shot the following morning.

Wista 4x5 DX2, 210mm Schneider Lens, Fuji Velvia 50 sheet film, exposure unrecorded

Very nice. I like the colors a lot here, Dean. Well composed, too. Looks like you made good use of that permit!

Dean - Frame filling good so to say. Love the light and how the Primroses seem to be assembled in pairs mostly. Red spent flowers add good contrast to the frame.

Very nice work, love it

Gorgeous light and color. I'm surprised there aren't tire tracks running through the middle of this.....

I miss my 4X5 days.

Simple, but beautiful shot. Such wonderful colors and soft light. It's sad that the rangers seem to favor dune vehicles over photographers. Glad you caught these primroses before the others ran roughshod over them.
