Candyfloss

This is from a day at the end of last summer with really buttery light.
I worked with these flowers for awhile, attempting to make some crams. Looking back at my files, I found this one, which I like because of its heavy handed color and simple background.
I toned down the small, unopened bloom a bit, to keep it from distracting.

Nikon D200, 60mm, f/3.5, 1/320, ISO 250.

All comments and critiques appreciated!

Thanks in advance,
Jaymes

Love the color and the whimsical feel from your pof and dof.

Great use of the cram Jaymes. Excellent point of focus on the side of the bloom and the unopened bud was handled very well. A very nice shot. I like the color too!

This is a very nice, monochromatic image, Jaymes. I like the processing and the composition. Simple and elegant.

I like it, mostly for the color wash. I think I would have cloned out the unopened bloom.

Jaymes - love the red wash in the frame and the minimalistic feel to the frame. Like the previous frame this one also has the right amount of flower to hold my interest. I think if portions of the bud also were in focus or if the bud were not to be there, it would make this even more interesting for me.

This is a super out- of- the- box image Jaymes. I keep going back and looking at it.

The color wash and low placement of the blossom in the frame are terrific. I think I would tone down that bud even more...or remove it. Nice work.

Superbly handled reds, Jaymes, and a deeply satisfying composition. I have just a slight question about the bud, even toned down, but this scarcely detracts from a very fine abstract.
