This was a tough one to get. Between the wind ( not hard to handle ), a photographer eating dog ( also not hard to handle ), and a bunch of people asking questions ( hard to handle ) I was able to get a few exposures.
D80, Iso 100, F18 @ 1/3 sec. let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

Beautiful shot Bob, great DOF. What lens did you use? Handheld or tripod?

It was a 70-300, tripod mounted cable release John. Sorry for my neglect for not stating this.

Nice dof and color. The ornamental hibiscuses are always fun to capture; they are so "in your face" gaudy.

Robert - Plenty sharp for the conditions you mention + 1/3 Sec of SS  .

Really love the vertical frame here and the superb velvety texture to the petals. Red Channel may be over but this is one example (for me) where it works just great.

Hi Robert :wavey: A great shot!! Love the light and color. This is real eye candy  Exceptionally sharp for 1/3 sec. But why the iso 100?

As lovely an hibiscus image as I can recall, Bob ! The control of the reds is superb, and the rhythms of the petals are a delight. First rate image !

Great pov and wonderful detail. The seductive color is the hook, though. Love the rich feel this has

Excellent color and detail, Bob. Mission accomplished in spite of all the challenges.

It's amazing about the questions. Invariably, when the front of my lens is inches away from a flower and I'm concentrating so hard that I forget I'm on Planet Earth (aahhhhh!), I get yanked back to reality with, "What are you taking pictures of?"
