First posting on an insect in this gallery. I wish it was a bit sharper. Just your standard honey bee having a really good time in this flower.

Canon 5d, M3, ISO200, 100 macro at 100mm, f 5.6, 1/160 sec, tripod, no flash

Comments and critiques welcome.

Welcome to the macro gallery, Kathy. Very nice shot of the bee. Nicely composed from the side with an excellent view of the bee doing his thing. Yes, a little sharper about the head/eye would have been better but still a pleasing image. Thanks for sharing. :wavey:

Very nicely composed and the colors are great. It looks like your focus was on the abdomen right behind the wings...wish I had a dime for all the macros where I've done that.

There's lots to like here in spite of the 'missed' focus. I just love the compositional elements in this image and the way they all have a nice graceful curve to them--even the bee. I also like the nice soft bg colors.
