Two of my favorite things for the summer are Hummers and Hibiscus. The hummers have enjoyed this Hibiscus with it's beautiful colors of red and yellow. This was taken around 10am and was natural light. I have done some PS, such as a little background blur, 50% crop, and sharpening. I would like your C's and C's. They are always very helpful!

Canon EOS 50D
f/5.6
1/8000 sec exposure time
Exposure bias-0.5 step
Canon Zoom EF 100-400 4.5-5.6 L IS
Focal length at 400mm
Hand Held

The large flower really accentuates how small hummers are. Nice and sharp where it matters. The droplets of water on the flower are a nice touch. Well done Carlette.

Very nice, like how you have most of the action of the wings stopped. I do wish the hummers bill was not in the shadow. Thanks for sharing.

Carlette,
Well done on this one, very nice, and way to go on the shutter speed, perfect for the harsh lighting. :toast:

Beautiful image, love how the hummingbird is dwarfed by the flower. I be tempted to lighten up the image a bit.

I really like this - especially since there's some foliage background here and not a "fabricated" one as one so often sees in these shots.

Excellent dof, Carlette, and I like the translucent wings.
