Transparency in death.

The insect is caught in the sundew and will die there. The sundew is a carnivorous plant. The early morning light illuminates the scene, a limited depth leaves everything as transparent as possible. The resulting large circles of reflection give much effect to all this. Death in nature is often not without benefit to nature itself. I think nature is beautiful in every way.

Insanely artistic, Loulou! I can't stop looking at this - such an interesting image. Is this a comp of different shots? Would you post what effects you applied to this image? It's just over-the-top beautiful.

It is basicly all in the angle of the shot ( low/ ground level neck hurting thing;-)) , sunshine ads a lot to make the reflections "shine" and f 2,2 does the trick, really hardly any sharpness/ DoF. It is a 120 euro lens ( 50 mm f 1,8) and the cheapest extension tubes ever, but a lovely creative combination to work with. Just one shot/ one RAW file.
Glad you like it!

I like this a lot too Loulou, very creative and definitely worth the hurting neck.

Sensitive and artistic way to find the beauty in death. A interesting and engaging image. Very nicely done

Fascinating natural abstract image, Loulou. Great job getting low and taking advantage of the light and conditions. I obviously see the trapped insect, but there's lots more for imaginations to see as well. :toast:

Very unique image, Loulou! It really has an ethereal feel to it which is appropriate since the insect will soon be heading off to some other ethereal realm. Great bokeh in this and love the rich colors. Well done!

What an unusual and dynamic shot. So many jewels, and the story is interesting too. Wonderful, imaginative image. Love all the circles.

Love this! Stunning and beautiful. Really like the pattern/texture in those circles and the rich vibrancy this has, even though the overall colour scheme is monochromatic.

Wild image, Loulou. I like all the highlight circles and the fact that you can still make out the main subjects. Very creative and very beautiful.
