Alpine Beauty(Vertical)with Repost

Here's a vertical version of my previous post (Alpine Beauty) from the aletsch Glacier in switzerland. Though I think the horizontal version is stronger I like the foreground here a bit more...I tried to give a bit more emphasis on the foreground. Anyway, what do you think about this comp?
I would like to thank for your feedbacks, opinions and suggestions on my previous post.

Another beauty, I have to admit, I like this a bit moor than your last post,of course, not taking anything away from your last, but I do think the FG is stronger. Very nice Bill.

Home run! Now do you have one with these flowers and some of those nice granite and lichen boulders? The FG is amazing here and works perfectly with the composition, like it was meant to be. If I could suggest anything, it might be to slightly/selectively darken the underside shadow of the clouds to give them a bit more depth and 3D feel. They seem too flat. Very minor and maybe just my own processing bias. What a grand view :toast:

I love the composition here. I prefer it slightly over the last composition, as I feel as if it emphasizes the flowers and depth more. Great colors, too. :toast:

Very pretty Bill. I like these FG elements better than the rocks in your last post (Aletsch Glacier). Much better color balance in this one too. I do like the horizontal format of your last Alpine Beauty post better though.

Tough one. I think the composition is better here but I liked the greater amount of blue sky around the peaks in the horizontal, giving better separation. Both are very nice indeed.

Bill, this is a strong and convincing composition to me. The foreground flowers draw my attention and lead me into the depth, whereas the majestic mountains complement them wonderfully. I appreciate the natural colors and subtle lighting.

I like this better than the horizontal treatment. I agree that the clouds need a little more juice.

Way to work it Bill. You got two great vertical images out of this place, both with really nice foregrounds. Leading lines of the glacier are excellent and the colors pop off the page. Excellent work!

Best yet. The fg flowers are a much bigger player in this image and their beauty lends a certain magic to the rest of the scene. A beautiful comp (as they all have been) and an outstanding location.

Bill, this is also an awesome scene but I prefer the first one. There's a little more empty space past the flowers, plus I think the juxtaposition of shapes in squares and the S is stronger. :toast:

EDIT- when comparing, I'm comparing to the one with the lichens. I think the vertical is better for the flowers as it crops in the most interesting parts of the mountain and glacier.

I think I like the vertical best.

The best of the bunch, Bill. I love the composition here. The flow of the rhododendron follows the glacier very well. Overall the shot feels a bit murky and on the yellow side. A change to a slightly cooler palette might emphasize the freshness of the snow and high altitude.

I like this one, but prefer the horizontal. There's a bit too much cloud in this one for me making the light and color less vibrant over the main bg mountains. Fg flowers are excellent though.

nice one bill but i believe that the horizontal image is stronger and IMHO works better. here, the bottom and top seem a little disjointed.

Here's a new version of this image. Andreas had a few suggestion and so I reprocessed it...... and I think it's an improvment.

The repost looks much better Bill. The colors are brighter and more vibrant. I still prefer the horizontal view of this scene, but this one is very nice as well.

This image has it all, Bill. Love the comp. Think the clouds could use some more work; looks like there's more color to be had up there, and it would differentiate them from the mountaintops a bit better. Beautiful sight, nice work.
