Another image from my morning among the hoodoos. I believe these sandstone outcrops are part of the Mesa Verde Formation. They have lovely pastel color bands I really like. Comments and critiques always appreciated. Thanks for looking.

I think this is pretty cool, Nancy! It's got that great round-the-corner feel. I even dont mind the white sky, it fits for this scene i think. But it would look better with a black bg (you know you can change that w/o a repost  )

Love the textures and the folds in the hoodoo. The blues and the yellows look very good together. Nice image Nancy.

The large view really showes off the textures and folds within the rock, along with very nice color and comp. Well done Nancy.

I really like the textures and colors in the shadowed areas. Might be some nice abstracts in there.

Fascinating formation. I like Tony's suggestion of exploring the hoodoos for abstracts.

The outcrop here does and excellent job of leading our eyes around the edge towards the open background area looking as far as possible in search of more territory. Nicely captured and presented, Nancy.

Love the look of the sandstone with its obvious erosion and textured qualities Nancy.
If you had the time I would consider going back and shooting this with some different, more dramatic lighting?
Just a thought, very nice as posted :toast:

My thoughts echo the above. I love the round-the-corner feel, although I would like more in the urc, and it does look like there are great abstracts to be had here.

This is cool looking. I especially like the textures and feel of the sandstone (I guess) which is seen very nicely in your large version.

I can only echo the comments made about the lovely textures in this Nancy, the bright sky does bother me a bit but not overly so.

Cheers, Gary.
