At least that's the closest I can come from Paulson's "Dragonflies of Washington" booklet. This is the same dragonfly as the last post, just a side view.

7D, 300mm f4 @ f7.1, 1/250, iso 640, Av mode with -2/3 compensation. Tripod with cable release. Cropped from the sides (taken in horizontal mode). Processed in CS5. Taken September 1st at 7:09 am.

Your comments and criticisms are most welcome.

Thanks for looking,

The poor thing looks really worn out! Were it's wings hanging a bit askew? I think a little off the bottom should be cropped to clean up the bottom left corner maybe. I like all the droplets, but I think the wing pointing forwards is a little distracting.

Dennis
Excellent plane of focus management with sharp focus from head to toe.Like the dew on the tail. This guy look like its still dozing and DF have their wings forward when resting. Would clone out the leaf in the RLC.

I really like the very clear view of the DF holding on to the stalk seemingly with all its might, Dennis. I also like the nice view of the design of the torso. Exceptional detail of the head, arms and torso. :toast:

Dennis, this is a nice looking dragonfly in what I would consider a normal state after a cool evening of sleep.
Nice job keeping both the nose and tail in focus. Love the dew drops.
The dragon looks a bit underexposed, but that may be because of the bright background.
Nicely done. :toast:

Definitely dew time. The larger view really shows off the details.
