I've been pretty much AWOL for some time now. I had my laptop crash and have been dealing with setting up the new one and restoring backed up files. Things have also been a little slow in the garden even though we've had a much less severe summer than usual, but we did get up close to 100° today. This hibiscus is one hardy character though as it has bloomed continually since the spring and shows no sign of slowing down. Hope you enjoy; all comments welcome.>=))>

Bill:
Very beautiful. I like how the pistil emerges from the valley between the two petals at the base. Good plane of focus management. Like this a lot. :toast:

Really well composed, Bill. I like the selective focus as well. Excellent perspective on this hibiscus. :toast:

Bill - I hope everything is sorted out with your computer. A crash can be heart breaking !!

Really like this composition for the Hibsicus - yellow wash at the base is pleasing and I like how the Pistil emerges from that Yellow cloud.

Nice to see you posting again.

I like this a lot Bill, I have tried to capture just what you have so well done, but have not accomplished anything near this great image. Great work.

I like that the focus is out front where it needs to be and there is enough detail to know what it is, without words. Well handled on the red and yellow colors. I'm sure sorry about your crash. Been there, done that, got the tee shirt! :frown:

Sensational!! Masterful selective focus; even a teensy bit more dof and the bottom of the image would have been done in as far as the lovely softness. Also, nice handling of a couple of difficult colors to shoot and process. Two thumbs (and from Rory, four paws!) up high.

Oooo, sorry about the crash. Glad you're back, now, and hopefully "rarin' to go."

That red really pops! Terrific composition and choice of aperture/focus point.

This is wonderful, Bill. Great colors, and I especially like the wash in front of the in focus stamens. Nice smooth background, too. :toast:
