Chokecherry Blossoms

(Prunus virginiana)

From early this spring. They seem to offer a promise of fruitfulness and abundance that sadly has been lost to the drought. I still like the image, though. Thanks for looking. Critiques and suggestions are always appreciated.

Other than a little dark (at least on my monitor), a nice diagonal comp. I could do without the stick behind the left leaf.

Nancy:
Like the placement of the bloom. The bg looks noisy - was this original very dark and brightening in PP? Wish the plane of focus is aligned with the flower stem.

I like this, Sandy, except for the stick in the LLC.

A very nice portrait. And, I vote for cloning out the twig.

Nice isolation of the flower, Nancy. Definitely the cloner/pruner needs to be wielded on that stick; difficult when working with fruit trees to get a completely clean comp, so for me, pruning, in post-processing is often necessary. A little more room on the left might be good, too. Sure agree with your musing about fruit tree blossoms, and the suffering caused by the drought.

Nancy: Another vote for making the twig go away but the capture of the flower head is excellent. Nicely done. >=))>
