Two Elephants ( Loxodonta africana ) in very close contact, something that is very common during their daily interaction. Image taken in Addo Elephant National Park in South Africa's Eastern Cape.

This is the original color version of a previously posted image

EOS 5D MKII - 600mm - 1/400 sec @ f5.6 - ISO 500

Another great elephant photo Mario. I love the interaction you have captured between the two elephants and the composition is so unique, cut off in all the right places IMHO. The close-up is wonderful - there is so much detail in their faces. The white spot in the eye of the right elephant is a bit distracting as it pulls my eyes to that spot. I would probably do something about that spot, but I understand those who do not want to alter an image in that way.

I quite like this Mario, it is a visually interesting abstract close-up to look at and that blue sky with puffy white clouds certainly adds to the appeal as well. A bit more detail and better view of the eyes would have put this over the top, but I know very well that this is difficult to achieve with elephants and their long whimpers.

PS: I couldn't help noticing your below average post to comment ratio and would like to take the opportunity to invite you to contribute more to these forums by also commenting and providing constructive feedback on other people's work. Ultimately the success of all the galleries are determined largely by the comments members leave on the images that are posted and I am convinced that with your skill you could provide valuable critique to other people's work. For more information about commenting/"critiquing" there are several good resources on this website discussing it. Start right here:

and you'll find links to the image posting guidelines and two articles on critiquing ("The Art of Image Critique" and "More Thoughts on Photo Critique.").

Cool comp! My only wish would be for the space between tusk and lower lip to be all blue sky, too.
