Close up of Dahlias refracted in a raindrop. Nikon D700, 180 macro, ext. tube, iso 400, f5.6, 1/200sec. Cropped about 30% off original file. Larger image include for a much better view of the dahlias. Comments, questions, suggestions welcome.

Neat catch, with the refracted image in the drop so sharp and everything else (with the possible exception of the petal it's hanging on) soft. You've also positioned it very nicely against the background.

Just great - I love these types of images, but haven't been very successful in achieving them. Any chance of a brief tutorial sometime?

Beautiful image, Scott! I agree with Sandy, I'd love some information about how to make these kind of images.

Pretty awesome! So cool having the flowers in the reflection of the rain drop.

Very nice image. I like the soft treatment of the flower, background and foreground compared to the crisp feeling of the water drop detail. Great stuff.

Beautiful, scott. I am always impressed by the amount of detail captured in such a shot. I hope to give this method a try since I have some extension tubes. Course, some rain would also help :).

I really like this, Scott! I like this style of image, but I find that it often isn't pulled off as well as this. The elongated drop lets us see so much of the flower. Beautiful, Scott!
