Like a Mirror...

Lizard Lake, Colorado

I had spent the day trying to shoot fall colors in the mountains, but for whatever reason wasn't feeling inspired by much. I decided to take a difficult 4 wheel drive trail late in the day, only to come up on a front-end loader towing a broken down truck down the trail. As the trail was very narrow with few places to pass, it was a long, slow, frustrating drive down the pass - until I rounded a corner and was presented with this. The entire surface of the lake was like a mirror. This image is part of a 12 image panorama of the whole lakeshore.

Any comments and critiques would be greatly appreciated.

Scott I really like the perfect reflection in this comp.
I also really like the reminder of when I made that drive in the snow on our 2006 trip. About half way between the last fork in the road and the lake as she looked out the window and straight off the mountain my wife commented " I think you should turn around " I couldn't help but laugh and ask If I should back up to the last fork to do that or not.

Scott,
That water is perfect, a rare no wind day. The X in the middle of the frame is very interesting. Thanks for sharing. :toast:

I think this fine shot might be improved by some softening. May be my subjective take, but it just seems oversharp. Maybe even if just the reflections were blurred somewhat that could create a better contrast and also perhaps seem less busy.
