Normandy

This is one of the most popular beaches in France and I must have arrived on a weekend as this picturesque town was completely overrun with tourists. Actually, most probably were Parisians taking advantage of a weekend in the sun.
Even though I hadn't been there before I had a shot in mind - star trails behind the arches at each end of the beach. When I set up deep into twilight I was surprised to find a stronger than normal glow on the cliffs. To my annoyance I discovered that the arches were floodlit at night so my plans were foiled. I did get a few sunset photos however; this one is from the less photographed end.

I've included this photo in my latest blog, an interesting one I think and I would love some feedback on what you think about my photography flowchart.

Lots of depth to this and interest from front to back. Too bad about the flood light. You would think that natures speaks loud enough on its own without it under spot lights. I'll have to check the flowchart later, it's blocked on the computer I am on. Tops of the cliffs look a bit darker from the rest - not sure as a result of blending exposures or the natural compositon of the rock. At this time of day, could easily have been a single shot. Well done. :toast:

I like the comp here and the interesting perspective, as well as excellent dof. I would work on the dark outline at the top of the cliffs due to blending. As far as the flow chart, I like how you've brought in all of the many aspects that go into making a compelling image and I think it would be useful for beginner and "intermediate" photographers

Just a note that the top of the cliffs are naturally darker as there is some vegetation there. It's also a single exposure not a blend at f22, 30 seconds.

Great perspective and a beautiful landscape. I especially love the foreground with its stones.

I just had to leave a comment here. This is ONE of my fav of yours, at least of the few I have seen. Great comp, colors, detail etc. If I were to mention anything, it might be the slight greenish coloring around the top rock. Very, very minor, IMO. I'm glad you decided to catch those 'few sunset photos' after the night/twilight shot decided to give you trouble. Thanks for sharing!

Intriguing array of elements Kah Kit and great comp. That sky is wonderful as are the rocks in the tidal pool. I like the monolith with the two arches as well. A lot of good stuff to look at here.

Sweet, Kah Kit! I love the above/under water perspective, and what it does for the rest of the composition. The textures all over this image are fantastic as well.

Kah Kit, this is fantastic! Loving the rocks under the water and the dynamic range. About the only thing that I see that could be fixed is the CA along the top right of the arch, there is quite a bit of cyan there. Beautiful photo all the way around!

Nice shot Kah Kit. I like the way there is a clear separation between the elements. Love those fg rocks under the water. Great light and comp well captured in one.

Wow, what a wonderful collection of elements. Each seems to have its own character, but they also work well together in this frame.

What a fascinating scene--very cool! I might boost the warm end just a bit.
