Red Glow

Another image from Inverness Beach, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.

After sunset, I always wait for the glow even with heavy skies like this and numb hands from the bone chilling, damp cold because I know it will happen. While the temps are probably in the 40F region, the wind chill is brutal.... Hypothermia weather.

Canon 40D
Canon EF24-70mm f/2.8L USM at 70mm
ISO 200 1.3 sec f/16;
SR 2-Stop Reverse

Thanks for having a look.

Awesome glow and reflections in the water. I love when some color sneaks through the end of a cloudy grey day like this.

it's uncanny, eva - at this point, i see a thumbnail and know it's yours and even the camera you used to make the image. there's a signature to your work - and that's a good thing.the horizon line seems a little hard and dark to my eye but i like this

I love this. I love the simplicity and light.

I would be happier with the rocks and foam cloned out though. :smile:

Beautiful pink glow and reflection on the sand. Worth all that cold, numbing waiting.

Many thanks all. When you love a place as much as I love this place, guess it shows through. Just hoping the film images with my Pentax 67II and Velvia 50 I will take from Oct 6 - 15 2012 will top my recent posts. We all have our special places, right? Well this is my place.

Definitely worth the wait. Feels warmer than it sounds like it was.

knew straight away this was yours, Eva. the glow on the horizon is just beautiful as is the reflection on the beach... if it was mine, I'd probably try to get rid of the foam... btw, can't you get some good gloves against the cold? :wink:

Gorgeous scene considering the drastic weather conditions. A viewer can surely get the feel of the conditions looking deep into the entire image, but to really fill & feel our senses you'd need to have been there, like you were Eva...... :cool:

Eva, this is your place without doubt, and you present it at its best to me. A wonderfully plain and balanced composition to my eye, yet with some compelling dynamics in the sea.
