"What an impressive mountain range!" was my first thought when I photographed this place for the first time. One good reaseon more to visit this place this year again. "The Gastlosen" on a summer's eve at sunset. There's a small trail leading all the way up to one of the peaks of this range.Hiking up this small trail with my photo gear and a tent was pretty tough but finally I made it to the top and it was all worth while.

This looks superb Bill, the large upload is very impressive. You've captured some lovely light.

The light is really sweet and the mountains impressive. I might experiment with a more pano look by cropping off some of the sky at the top.

This is a very nice capture of the scenery and especially the light. Since the upper part of the sky has little visual interest, I'd crop it to a 16x9 ratio. Critiquing how you composed it, The only thing I see that you might consider is the way you included the the rock outcropping I assume you're standing on. It's inclusion seems accidental. There isn't enough of it to add much visual interest or depth to the image. I realize you may have been contending with a hand rail or other obstacles to composition, but I'd like to see more of it (like I could stand on it) or none of it.

Hi Bill, this looks impressive! A very effective portrait of that range. The light could not be better to showcase all the shapes. Also the other peaks on the horizon (right) add something here. The sense of distance and scale works to the full advantage. I enjoy this a lot. One nit: perhaps a crop from the bottom would be an idea to try.

Wow! What a fantastic view. I love the light and the color is wonderful. Your large version is impressive Bill. I could see a small crop of the bottom but do enjoy it very much as is. This is really nice! :toast:

Thanks everyone for the feedbacks and suggestions. I agree with you on thecritique about the bottom. This stone in the foregroudn is bothering me also but I thought I give it a try here and see what you say.

A majestic scene with lovely light. I'm not too sure about including that rock either but perhaps cropping top and bottom to a more panoramic balance might be an improvement.

Kah Kit, I agree with you. The rock at the bottom was an "accident". I didn't see it on the field and then at home on the pc....well. Anyway, I was interested what you think here on npn....I think in the final version I would crop the bottom and a bit from the top. Thanks for your feedback Kah Kit.
