I really like your POF/DOF in this Charlie. Wonderful perspective of a past prime bloom.

The top of the flower shows nice detail which drops off as you follow the bloom down. I'm sure this is what you want and it sure works for me. Pleasing background helps to show this beauty nicely! Thanks for sharing Charlie.

Sensational light and color IMO. Great composition and POV as well.

Like this a lot Charlie. Nice composition, exposure, color, and crisp detail. The only thing I might change would be to burn down the closest petal so that it matchs the others. This way my eye is pulled to it as being the subject but really it's the whole seed head. Nice spotting.

The bluish-gray background really sets off the neutral colors of the seed head. More unique work from you and still excellent.

Charlie - Good eye to spot this one. The light and textures are excellent and so is the background.

I am thinking if this were to be shot a bit more from the left the two OOF curls might have been in some better focus  ?

Thanks all. Ram these are all over my columbine plants at the moment and I can't resist their beautiful (at least to me) curves and curls, so I may shoot one or more again. Thanks.

Charlie:
My comments echo that of Ram regarding the curls. May have to try focus stack if the bg is proving busy.

Hi Charlie :wavey: This subject looks difficult to get it all in focus  but the OOF curl does not help the image, which is very good. i like how you composed the seedhead, with the variations of light and color. i would try one shot on the curls, and see what happens
