Tim, I like this comp, such lovely soft light and beautiful shades of color. The larger version really brings out the beauty of this flower. Your choice of dof and background work really well making the flower stand out nicely. Of course, my opinion, but I say well done!

Very nice! I agree with all of the previous comments from Jim. My one thought is that the composition feels very tight... I wish there was more room around the flowers. That's just me though!

Thanks for your comments. They're well appreciated. Cam Held - I agree and I fought with it really hard. First I had a little more space around the flowers and then I cropped it back a little. I didn't have as much room to play with as I had hoped for with other parts entering the frame. Again, many thanks for taking the time to look and comment.

Hi Tim,

I like this. Nice composition and deft handling of the colors and highlights. In my opinion, the bright spot in the upper right could be a little darker.

Overall, I think a bit of mid-tone contrast might bring out some of the fine detail in the petals. And maybe a tiny bit more sharpening. I like High Pass sharpening.

I agree that the crop is tight. It doesn't sound like you could do any thing about that. Don't you hate it when unwanted elements intrude on the edges of a beautiful photo?

It's not quite up to the standard you set for yourself with "Weekend Orchids".

Beautiful color and overall very nice while agreeing that this would look best if you had a bit more space.

No worries. It's always best to make a big splash when you first jump into the pool.

Another fine image. A wee bit tight, but not a deal breaker for me. I like the color, light, background, and dof. Maybe a touch of brightening of the main flowers?

Tim - Another pretty shot from the Orchid series. Some good suggestions have been made already. But in spite of everything that could be improved, this is still a pretty shot in my book.

Great color control and depth Tim. I agree with the bright spot in the upper right, but overall a beautiful portrait.

Nice orchids, Tim. I love the tender yellow color and lights. Agree with Mark about the sharpness, I’d like to see the upper flower sharper. Just my opinion however, good shot as is.

Tim: Superbly crafted image in every respect IMO. The larger version is a real treat. Most excellent. >=))>

PS: We may need to compare yards sometime. We're in Champions.

Hi Tim :wavey: After all is said and done. this is still a very fine shot, a little more high pass sharpining would have easily helped to make this a more stunning presentation
