I spotted a newly emerged Meadowhawk DF at rest with its head cocked forward. I did this extreme closeup of the back of its head..and saw this "demon" at the controls.
Halloween came early:wink:

Wow, this is exceptional. Before reading I tried to determine what this was. No luck. Thanks for sharing the image and explanation.

Here's the newly emerged DF on the outside of our house, near the pond.
This is with the straight 150mm lens. One can see that its head is cocked forward, exposing the demon

How interesting, Howard. This would be a good psychological (Rorschach) test. Hmmm. So you see demons and aliens. I see a kitty and a puppy! No, just kidding. I see all sorts of odd creature faces (including the alien), all sitting on top of the top half of the head of monkey with its eyes closed. Pretty cool, indeed. :toast:

Final image after rework & further review..Sometimes I'm too quick to post.
I guess I shoot first and aim later too often

Howard, I like the repost. Nice work. Looks sharper, with better color balance. I also like the additional exposure and the additional room. Just curious, but did you consider rotating it slightly clockwise to vertical? I was going to suggest this but did not.

I recognize the part of the critter. Terrific super macro, Howard, with great details and interesting colors. The alien looks ready to fire the phasers.
