"Don't play with your food"

D4 ISO 1000. 300/2.6 with 2x tc. f 5.6 1/2000s -0.3ev. Early morning sun.

I'm never quite happy with my Little Blue images. The bird always seems less vibrant in my images than what I remember from when I'm shooting. I know I can turn vibrance up more, but I don't seem to need to with other birds and I guess this is just they way they look. Maybe I WANT them to be prettier than they are.

Looking for comments/suggestions.

Great capture Angela,
Excellent detail on both subjects and the colors look just fine to me. The action is fantastic and you caught a wonderful moment of nature.
One nit however, you need CW rotation to level the Lilly Pad in the water.

I agree with Mike- the colors look fine to me. I think they are just a lot grayer than they are blue... I love the action, what a moment! Wouldn't want to be that frog! Also, as Mike said the image could use a bit of rotation to level it.

Angela, this bird is already pretty enough! You've done an excellent job, the techs look really good. Lighting, detail, habitat, pose and that fish. Congratulate yourself!

Excellent timing to catch this action Angela. The colors may not jump off the screen but this looks very natural to me.

Agree about the need to level the image, all else is great. Caught the frog just right with legs extended. Thanks for sharing.

I agree with you about this species Angela. This one looks quite handsome, fantastic action you caught, a bit of cw rotation to finish it off. :toast:

CW complete. Guess I got into the bird so much I forgot to look at the rest of the image.
