Grand Ole View

Just got back from my first trip to the Grand Canyon. I stayed on the South Rim because I wasn't going to be there long and so most of my photos are from various viewpoints along the rim. This photo is of the Grand View overlook. There were a few other photographers already setup when I got there but my dad and I were the only ones to stick around until the sun went down. I've learned my lesson that I would rather leave in the dark than miss an opportunity for a better shot. So this one was captured earlier on in the evening and the pink and purple colors were just amazing. My only self-critique is that the greenery is softer than I would like (and the compression to post here makes it even softer).

What a view!! I really enjoy the color you caught here Cristina. The misty soft feel in the background is quite enjoyable to me as well.

The greenery in the foreground is a little soft like you mention but that doesn't detract at all for me, that could be down to a slight breeze. I like this, it's a lovely big view, I like your comp and the colours are lovely too.

I like all the details and the depth, it's a lovely view. The colors and the softness of the light look like this was taken after sunset. With a 2 s exposure, any breeze will soften the leaves, that's not a big deal.

I wish the leaves in the FG weren't there, but It's not a major deal. The colors and shapes of the BG are spectacular - eye candy!
