Hardwoods

This was taken at Fort Harrison State Park in Indiana a couple of weeks ago. I had a lot of fun trying to find a good composition midst all the underbrush but finally settled on the use of tree trunks for leading lines. Please let me know if this is too busy and cluttered. Thanks for looking.

I like the comp a lot. Very orderly for so much chaos. Natural color and light, too. Well done.

It does feel a bit busy but the repetition in the trunks help to tie it together. I like the mixture of greens and yellows here. Nice sense of transition.

The ordered trunks lessen the business very well. Nice composition.

A very appealing and nicely balanced composition for me, Nancy. I especially like the repetitive pattern of the trunks together with the diversity of colors in the foliage.

The larger version could use a bit more sharpening for the web in my opinion, to show the textures of the barks and the foreground elements. But that is only a minor matter for me. I enjoy the image as it is.

Very nice Nancy, really like the forest scenes, and this is no exception, beautiful color and comp. Well done.

Peaceful forest scene. The image is a bit busy, but the big trunks on the left do a nice job of anchoring things and the repeating lines of all the trunks lend coherence. It works.

Not too busy, but the balance feels a bit off to me--the two trunks on the lhs feel a bit heavy, whereas most of the scene is light leaves and thin trunks. I prefer a crop of just the rhs--using the rhs tree as a border.

Not too busy IMO. I recently failed miserably at capturing a similar scene. Well done.

This is nice! Not to busy for me as it just seems to have a nice natural look. The small version has a nicer crisp look.

I like all of the details and how my eyes start with the two big, dark trees and follow the trees to the right and into the distance. I feel that the area left of the two big trees distracts from that flow, so I wonder about cropping some of that out or possibly burning it in so it attracts less attention. It's a lovely rendition of an eastern forest.
