Interesting. The blurred leaves give a great perspective and leading lines into the scene. Nice.

Looks like needs a bit of contrast on the top 1/2 but really dig it. Nice work

The streaking leaves bring a unique spin to the view. The standing left tree is a bit shabby compared to the rest of the scene, and much darker than anything else so I might consider a crop of it. The downed tree I do like.

I think this is a brilliant shot because it justifies the movement in the standing trees surrounding the rock. The theme of this shot seems to be the moving leaves in the water, which makes the blurred leaves on the trees consistent with that theme. Normally, when shooting water, a longer exposure serves as a hinderence regarding foliage as it usually results in blurry ness. But it totally works in this image. Very creative!

Thanks everyone. I'm sure the top could use some contrast, just didn't know if it really needed it. As far as that tree on the left, I considered cropping it, but I felt it would throw the comp off. I can play around with it and see.

Wow ... that's a lot of leaves flowing down that river. Love the long exposure and the dynamic created by it.

Peter, This is really cool looking. Your 30 second exposure really made for a neat effect that worked great! Nice work Peter.

Thanks guys. It was quite fun shooting this scene. Most of the leaves became blocked up on the other end creating a mosaic of wet leaves.

Woah! it feels like this is moving. very effective depiction of the motion at the time, excellent image. agree it could use a little midtone contrast bump.

Here is a repost with a few changes. First I cropped the tree from the left and also boosted the contrast in the canyon walls, but didn't want to go too crazy. Should also be a bit more colorful.

You gotta love the feedback you get here on NPN. The repost with the tree cropped out and the increased contrast on the canyon walls looks good. The movement of the leaves coming right at the viewer works well IMO.

Interesting (and very attractive) combination of motion in the stream and static rocks. Very nice! The extra contrast in the repost is a good improvement.

The repost looks really nice Peter. The canyon walls really attract me; I just want to be able to touch them and feel their texture! I'm not a big fan of the "leaves moving in water" treatment that seems to be so popular today, but you did a great job with it for those who do like that effect. A well crafted, thoughtful image.
