One that slipped the forum post. The vibrant reds here were amazing. This downed tree was screaming drama when I first laid eyes on it. Hope I was able to justify this scene. Comments and critiques appreciated.

Very nice. This has lot's of drama, not to mention stunning color and excellent details. The 'whitish' leaf mid-frame is the only distraction and a minor one at that. Great image

Excellent! The blowdown makes a very interesting setting for these blazing leaves, along with the vertical trunks at the top. Well-balanced comp.

Beautiful colors. The downed branches bring your eyes right to it, then sweep up to the redness of the leaves. Great job

Very nice colors and mood here Peter. I could also see this working as a square crop starting at the top and going down just below the first diagonal branch.

Gorgeous explosion of fall color Peter! Intense and soft at the same time. Great texture as well.

Very nice. The elements are very engaging. Like the slight highlight in the lower center to keep me in the frame.

This is great. I wonder what a horizontal composition of the same scene would have produced? Did you try that?

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback. This is quite different from what I normally shoot, but come on, how could one not photograph this scene?

Youssef- I did try some horizontal frames, but it didn't give the same mood and didn't flow as well because the rest of the fallen tree was so prominent. The way the fallen tree leads to the trees in the back was better for a vertical.

Beautiful Peter. The reds look a bit oversaturated on my work monitor, but I absolutely love the composition and the smattering af green & yellow leaves among the red.
