I like the dreamy look of this, Charlie, with the soft light on the mushrooms. Did you use a filter, or is this just the play of the light? Excellent low, upward perspective to capture the feel of life at ground level in fall. You could clone out the light spots in the ULC, but I like that they take up some of the dark space and don't bother me. Overall, well done.

WOW a really cool POV, alittle soft on the fungus but maybe that was your intention. :toast:

Scott I use NIK Color Efex pro on many of my images and did on this one. They are quite different than what comes out of the camera. I haven't read the guidelines since coming back and I may be posting images that should be in the photo arts gallery. Please feel free in giving me your opinion as to the appropriateness of this and any of my posts. Also should I be posting details of which filters I used on any given image?

Thanks for asking,

Charlie

This was a shot of mushrooms growing high in one of our trees. I held the camera and flash separately over my head to get this shot and of course the perspective is from under the MR's.

Charlie, I have no problem with you posting this here at all, and no, you don't need to indicate filters used or other techs when you post. I just liked the effect and was curious as to how it was done. Thanks for sharing the details.

LOVE the perspective here!
Perfectly titled - the softness lends an aura of the mystical.

Hi charlie :wavey: I am enthralled with this magical shot  :jump: beautifully seen and captured, would only crop a bit on top to better show off the mushrooms :toast:

Great POV to get the undersides visible of these mushrooms. Often very tricky to do with these little guys. This has a dark, deep forest feel to it with your lighting and background elements. . .I can almost smell the decaying forest scent. Good details on the mushrooms for holding the camera over your head! My only wish is that the OOF foreground bark (?) was just a little bit lower in the picture to allow a better view of the mushrooms. Now if you would have just stood on a ladder. . .

Great pov, Charlie. The softness of the mushrooms feels like a slight Orton effect and adds nicely to the mystical feeling.

I really love the perspective and the dreamy moodiness of this image. Great pov and details, and I like the dof. Great job with the pp, I enjoy using Color Efex pro as well and this is a great application.
