I would love to see an isolated view with just the mare. I'm not sure the other two really add anything other than "bookends."

love the mood with the dust and good use of DOF!
I like both OOF zebras on either side - goes to show that everyone will interpret/appreciate a photo differently

Hi Ingrid,

I quite like this - and the absolute "dead-centre" placement of the main subject works real well here. For me this shot has strong "impact" - nicely done

No nits but I am left wondering if selectively reducing the brightness of the background just a little might strengthen the image a bit more? Just a thought...

@Brad: thanks for your comments and suggestion - I had tried that but I don't like the result - the colour of the dust then no longer fits the colour of the sky and there seem to be too many shades in the photo for me then.

I really like this image as is. I like the OOF zebras a lot, and while in most cases I might say reduce the brightness of the background, I think here it really adds an extra dimension. Nice work!
