Morning in the Marsh

This is a picture I made about a week ago a couple of miles from my home. Taken at Bakken's Pond State Wildlife Area which is a place I really enjoy going to. Being that it is so close to home makes it possible for me to go there often, and I do!. This was another early morning just after sunrise while the fog was still lifting. Quiet and peaceful. I really can't think of a better way to start the day. Thanks for any thoughts and also for all of your comments on my last post! 5D3,70-300L @130mm, f/11 and 1/100 sec.

I love the warm directional light here Nick. And I couldn't agree with you more about starting the day, I feel sorry for night owls who then sleep until noon. They are absolutely missing best part of each day.

Wow, gorgeous light. The way it filters through the mist is just magical. Nice fall colors, too. An excellent start to your day, and now to mine as well. Thanks for sharing

That warm morning light is very appealing Nick, and those subtle layers in the background trees are wonderful. Beautiful scene.

Gorgeous light and colors, and the morning mist, don't get any better than that Nick. Tranquil and beautiful.

Great feeling to this image Nick. The beautiful side light through the fog lighting up the saturated colors is great. Fine image.

Nick, I really appreciate the tranquil atmosphere and pictorial quality of your image. The incredible colors and slight haze in the distance make it outstanding for me.

Now I like this a lot. Incredible lighting, and the slight detail in the bg trees make this. Well processed, I may add.

Pretty, Nick--a worthy addition to your portfolio IMO. Love the golden glow. Minor, but you might consider cloning out those tiny sky spots for a more consistent look. :wavey:

Another bit of beautiful light you caught here Nick. Far shore captures are not easy, well done.

Love the quality of the light, Nick and the touch of mist that brings such a wonderful glow to the entire image. I like your use of the pano format and eliminating traces of the sky. You are very fortunate to live so close to such a beautiful place.

Nick, I remember your previous image with this title, and I like this one even more. I like the simplicity of this composition, as well as the layers created by the fog and the foreground water elements. That bit of direct sunlight on the distant leaves on the right gives that part of the composition some extra interest that keeps it from just fading off into infinity.

You've really captured the essence of the moment Nick. Love the warm colors and how the misty BG focuses the viewers eyes on the FG.

Awsome mood on this one, especially with the warm fog.. I do like the crop, perfect for the leading lines of the marsh edge. Other than the specks, a winner.

Thanks to all of you for your comments on this one so far! Much appreciated!
Stan & Harry, Yes, I think cloning out those little bright highlights from the sky is a good idea. If I print this I will make them go away... Nick
