male lion feeding on buffalo in Mana Pools, Zimbabwe. I was lucky the light fell right on his eye, I think that's what makes this picture. In contrast to the eaten eye from the buffalo.

I agree with your remarks about the eyes and positions of the two heads Carole; that makes the image a keeper (although not a wall hanger

). I might experiment with darkening the brighter areas in the forest in the BG, that will make the lion stand out even more.

The relatively short focal length worked very well to get nice dof and a great perspective. Love the browns accentuated by the black buffalo. This might work as a horizontal too.

Carole,
I love the eye contact, and as you said, the light on his eyes. Love the contrasting lion and buffalo in this shot- very cool! The background seems a tad bright for my liking- toning it down would put more emphasis on the lion I think. The tongue out is just an added bonus! Great work, can't wait to see more!
