I'm guessing that the stop sign was actually used at one time...we were driving around while on vacation in PA and found the stop sign in the field. Not sure where I'd go... just thought it was interesting

Was there a road there or is there another road we can't see? I think the message to me is that nature can and will over come everything we build, we have been on this planet a short time and nature will continue long after we are gone.

This may be the site of an abandoned town. I saw a show on TV a year or so ago(History or Discovery channel) detailing fires underground in abandonded coal mines. The water tables of these areas are also adversely affected by chemical leeching. I do like the juxtapositioning of the sign in what appears to be a field.
