Eagle Coming at You

This is my favorite shot from the trip to Chilkat a couple of weeks ago. Somewhat of a unique perspective among all the eagles I've shot over the years. There was enough room to crop it a bit for position in the frame. This seemed to achieve the best balance. Interested to know what others think. Check out the larger version for best effect.

Nikon D4, 600mm f4
1/2500 at f/7.1
ISO 500

Underside of wings selectively lightened in post.

I like this a lot Dan. The eagle is sharp (a challenge with this approach angle), the whites are well exposed and there's enough detail in the shadows under the wing. I do wish you'd include more of your techs...

The large version is downright scary! I think you were wise to keep this a very tight crop, it adds to the impact. Well done. :toast:

Looks like he has you in his sights. Nice to see a different perspective with the head on view, not a easy image to get. The larger image shows good detail where it counts, excellent shot Dan.
