This is another post from my ongoing series "Portraits of Trees". I captured this image last week walking around in the Danube Floodplains, Lower Austria.

Terrific detail in the large version. I really like the undertone of green through all the warm fall colors.

Very nice detail, especially noticeable, as expected, in the larger version.

Very much the feel of a landscape painting from the Golden Age of art. A thoughtful comp and natural color.

Peter, very nice indeed, as everyone mentioned, the detail is fantastic, and the color is very natural, and I also like the way the limbs intertwine within the scene. Beautiful work.

Very well done! It is almost an abstract, with the leaf pattern. I like this a lot.

Very nice scene. There's just enough openings in leaves to expose those interesting branches.

Nice! I love all the detail here. Both versions appear to be slightly oversharpened on my monitor. If you use PS smart sharpen is the way to go here, which allows you to minimize the compression artifacts due to sharpening.

Peter,
Your recent tree images all have a similar style or theme and I think will go well together for your tree project. Similar, yet they are each different too. I think this is my favorite so far. Very chaotic, yet lots of fine detail and soft color to explore thru the image. You have just enough grasses at the bottom for a strong base - any more and I think the impression would change, and any less would become more of a distraction than anything. I like this one.

Hi Peter,
I find this has a very elegant feel. The fine details and the two curved trees left and right frame create an appealing sense of line and structure. The large version is worth seeing.

Peter, This is wonderful. This comp works excellent and the natural colors look great. Also the detail is really nice. It does look a bit oversharpened to me but it is still a beautiful image. I especially enjoy the feel this has. A great series you have going with these! Nice work!!

Good job bringing some simplicity to what looks a kind of busy scene. The sharpening is a little strong on both versions.

That's quite a wall of detail there! How'd you get that under the size limit? I'm with Harley, it has an abstract kind of quality to it.
